Tutorial : How to root the LG G2 in less than an hour

If you happen to own LG G2 and wants to root it, then you’re at the right place! This tutorial will guide you on how to root the LG G2 in less than an hour.

However before we begin, I would like to warn you that during the process of rooting, there is a risk of bricking your own device. So if you still want to proceed, you’ll be doing it at your own risk and we will hold no responsible for any form of damage on your device. Its a good practice for you to backup your device to an external source apart from your own SD Card.

This procedure will only work for the models listed below :

• AT&T G2 (D800) – D80010d
• Verizon G2 (VS980) – VS98010B (Shipping ROM)
• Verizon G2 (VS980) – VS98011A (OTA)
• T-Mobile G2 (Shipping ROM)
• KT F320k (Shipping ROM)
• Rogers D803 (Shipping ROM)
• Bell D803 (Shipping ROM)
• Telus D803 (Shipping ROM)
• OPEN D802 (Shipping ROM)

Follow the steps below to root the LG G2 :

1. Ensure that you’ve already downloaded the device’s driver on your PC.
2. Ensure that you’ve also enabled Developer Mode and USB Debugging on your phone’s Settings.
3. Connect the LG G2 to your PC using a USB cable.
4. Download the rooting kit.
5. After you’ve downloaded, extract the file to your desktop.
6. From the extracted folder, double-click on the root.bat.
7. Follow the instructions from the pop-ups.
8. Your PC will prompt you to disconnect the LG G2 from your PC. Disable USB Debugging once you’ve disconnected your device.
9. Once done, enable the USB Debugging again and reconnect your device to the PC.
10. You will be asked whether you want to install the Superuser or not – which you should accept.
11. Reboot your device.
12. Congratulation! You’ve just rooted the LG G2.
